2018: Lessons and Victories

Updated: Dec 31, 2018

It seems fitting that my last post of the year would be a reflection of 2018. I know you feel me when I say it's been a crazy one, a year that has really challenged us. But through all of the ups and downs, I hope you can join me in remaining grateful for everything that has happened. I know that I would not be where I am now, if it was not for every moment and lesson I've experienced since 01Jan2018.

Looking back, for me, 2018 has really been about me accepting myself. This year has not been easy, I'd consider it to be one of the hardest. But on the other side of that, it has been one of the most fulfilling, enlightening, and surreal years of my life. I've faced my fears, unlocked many hidden memories, and let go of relationships that were not helping me move forward. I could not have done that all, had it not been for finally being able to accept who I am, where I am, and why I am. It’s taken a lot of work to get to this point, and I’m thankful for the relationships, prayers, and healing that have supported me. I can truly say that I finally feel more like me than I've ever felt in my life.

In the midst of all of the deep level lessons, I've experienced victory this year. I'm still learning to celebrate the #wins, so I took time today to write out and share some of mine:

- being baptized at Relate Church

- completing my Reiki level II training

- seeing my friends flourish and grow beyond their own expectations

- officially launching Une Chose Nouvelle

- paying off my car, Dilla

- swimming in the ocean during the summer

- performing a dance routine at a good friend's wedding

- doing Reiki exchanges with an amazing friend and mentor

- eating fish for the first time in over a year

- seeing and hearing how Reiki has positively affected my clients

What have been some of your 2018 victories? What lessons are you taking with you into 2019? I hope that you have some time to reflect on things. Even just a moment to think of one good laugh from this past year. Let the memories inspire you and help you to keep taking steps forward as we head into the new year! I feel like 2019 will be a good one!

Wishing the best for you all! Stay #blessed and stay safe celebrating into 2019!
